I began by sketching various geometric shapes and stand designs to explore different possibilities. Once I settled on the final design shape, I refined both the stand and the leather casing of the speaker for a more polished look.
Problem
Many portable speakers face the challenge of lacking a stable stand, making charging inconvenient.
Their often irregular shapes can lead to instability, causing the speaker to tip over while plugged in. This design flaw not only complicates the charging process but can also result in damage to the speaker or charging cable.
Solution + Concept
To design a portable speaker which includes a convenient stand for effortless charging, delivering a seamless, wireless audio experience. The speaker is handcrafted with premium cowhide leather and a brushed aluminum finish inspired by Bauhaus leather couches.
The Ovid portable speaker also includes a convenient magnetic stand for effortless charging, delivering a seamless, wireless audio experience.
My end goal is to create a speaker that blends functionality into a tastefully curated furniture piece. Designed with a focus on modern elegance, this speaker serves as both a high-performance audio device and a sophisticated design element. It enhances any space it occupies by elevating the music experience and act as a stylish, integrated component of the surrounding decor.
